Epsom & Ewell Win Netball Trophy at Better Club Games

The Epsom & Ewell Walking Netball team, who are CLUB members at the Rainbow Leisure Centre & Spa in Epsom, took the trophy at a recent competition held in Brixton.

They won every single match in a round-robin competition against six other teams to take the title for the second year in a row.

Coming up against old adversaries, the team worked hard to beat off stiff competition and positioned themselves again as the team to beat.

Taking place at the Ferndale Community Sports Centre on Friday 13th September, this walking sports competition, comprising of football and netball, is the warm-up for the annual Club Games, which takes place this week at the Copperbox Arena in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London. Teams from Better partnerships across London and Surrey will compete in a wide range of sports including Badminton, Short Tennis, Darts and Table Tennis in a competition created solely for CLUB members aged over 55.

The points collected last week in both walking sports will be added to those gained in the other sports, including Table Tennis, Badminton and Dominoes, which last year resulted in a second place for Epsom & Ewell.
