Dozens of swimmers will take part in a seasonal swimming celebration this Boxing Day (December 26) to raise money for the Trussell Trust.

Swimmers at Hough End Pool in Manchester, Greater Manchester will be encouraged to make donations of tinned and dry goods, as well as unwanted Christmas gifts and toys to support the charity.

A collection point will be set up within the centre to collect the donations.

Hough End Pool will open from 9am for those keen to burn off some Christmas calories, relax and have fun.

As well as swimming, pre-booked customers can enjoy, squash and gym.

Marika Smith, General Manager for Hough End Leisure Centre said: "This year has been like no other -  it’s been tough on our customers and the less well off so it’s nice to spread a little seasonal cheer with our Boxing Day Dip and help out a local charity too."

In Covid-secure operation, swim sessions must be pre booked online or via the Better_uk app.  Booking windows open 7 days in advance.
