From Super Active to North West England Regional Squash Champion!
The North West England Aspire Championships took place on the 14th October. The Aspire programme is an England Squash regional talent pathway bringing together the best young players from Lancashire, Cheshire, Merseyside and Cumbria. Sixty juniors from the region competed in the championships. Fantastic to see two winners (Mitaire and Reuben) from the Manchester Squash Academy. The boys under 11 category saw all of the top 5 finishers from the Manchester squash programme.
Congratulations to all the finalists; a special mention to Mitaire for winning his first regional title. Mitaire first started his squash at the National Squash Centre & Regional Arena on a multi-sports camp known as Super Active. From this initial taster of the sport, he has progressed from the junior beginner squash sessions to the Manchester Squash Academy. In the past year, Mitaire has won 6 squash tournaments!
