Moss Side Junior Open 2019 – Report

On Saturday 16th February, Moss Side Leisure Centre hosted an England Squash copper tournament. The tournament featured 26 junior players – 20 from Manchester community programmes and clubs. The tournament is the first squash event to be held at the centre since the re-opening after a full refurbishment of the leisure centre.
Players from the Manchester Squash Academy won five of the six age categories with a further two finalists. Entries were also received from our city wide community programme. It was great to see all the matches throughout the day played in a competitive but fair manner.

The next England Squash tournament on our radar is a bronze tournament at the National Squash Centre on the 23rd March followed by a copper tournament at Moss Side Leisure Centre on the 11th May.
