Gillian Duncan

Swimming Instructor

I have been working as a swimming instructor here in Sleaford since 2014.

My qualification as a level 2 ASA swimming Instructor was carried out in 2012 whilst in the Army.

Prior to my level 2 qualification I did voluntary work as a swim assistant for a Garrison pool.. Then in 2011 carried out my level 1 swim teaching qualification.

Since working in Sleaford I have had the chance to teach children of all ages starting with Adult and infants/toddles. Then children going through their Stages 1-10 and Rookie lifeguards. Plus school swim teaching for local schools in the surrounding area

Also adult group classes covering beginners to improvers and advanced.

The opportunity that swimming provides allows you to develop attributes that will serve you well and impact the lives of others. Learning to swim isn't just about moving in the water. It teaches discipline and an ability to respect others, be kind and work as a team. It will enable you to make and accomplish goals and how to deal with disappointment too.

Swimming is the best form of exercise as it is gentle on the bones, it's good for toning your body and lowers stress.

I teach group stages 1-5 on a Monday and a Wednesday’s between 4pm-6pm

In my spare time I carry out private one to one or two to one lessons. You will achieve great results for those learning to swim or just wanting to improve technique or water confidence for adults or children. So if you have anxieties about anything with water I can help.

Private lessons are usually for 30 min’s, but if you want longer that is also possible. All lessons are payable at reception.

To enquire about private lessons, you can contact the centre directly.
