Health & Wellbeing Event at the Haydon Centre – Tuesday 28th April
The Healthwise Programme is pleased to invite the local community to a Health and Wellbeing Event taking place on Tuesday 28th April, from 10:00am to 1:00pm, at the Haydon Centre. This free, welcoming event is designed especially for older adults who are interested in becoming more physically active and supporting both their physical health and mental wellbeing.
Healthwise is delivered through GLL Better Leisure centres across Swindon, including the Link Centre, Haydon Centre, Dorcan, and the Health Hydro. The programme supports people living with long-term health conditions such as osteoarthritis, hypertension, and other medical conditions, helping them to safely increase activity levels, manage their health, and improve overall quality of life.
Throughout the morning, attendees will be able to visit a range of information stands showcasing local health, wellbeing, and community services. These stands will offer advice, guidance, and opportunities to learn more about the support available within the community. Refreshments will also be provided, creating a relaxed and social atmosphere.
At 11:45am, there will be an optional seated exercise drop in session, suitable for all abilities. This gentle drop in taster session is designed to be accessible, supportive, and confidence-building, offering a chance to try some simple movements in a friendly environment.
The Healthwise team will also be hosting a stand, where visitors can receive free blood pressure checks and find out more about the Healthwise Programme and how it may support them or someone they care for.
This event is a fantastic opportunity to connect with local services, gain practical health information, and take positive steps towards a more active lifestyle. We look forward to welcoming the community to the Haydon centre on Tuesday 28th April.
