Welwyn Wheelers Cycling Club, who are based at Gosling Sports Park, hosted round three of Eastern Cyclo-cross League at Stanborough Park on Sunday the 1st of October 2023.

The club have built an excellent relationship with the staff at Better Leisure, Stanborough,  which has enabled development of the course over the past few years, making it technically challenging and one of the favourite venues on the Cyclo Cross calendar.

The event was supported by a team of around 50 volunteers on the day and attracted 380 riders from across the south east. A full race schedule opened with Under 8s through to Veteran riders, who all competed for a place on the podium.

The dry conditions meant the riders faced a fast, yet challenging and technical course, which made for fantastic spectating for the enthusiastic crowds.

For those that are interested in getting into Cyclo-cross, Welwyn Wheelers offers experienced and improver training sessions at Gosling Sports Park, which is also owned and operated by Better Leisure.
