Herts Boat Rescue - Whaley Bridge Dam, Derbyshire

Alex Tonge (Stanborough Park's Operations Manager), who volunteers his time as part of the Herts Boat Rescue Team, were called to Derbyshire to provide support for local emergency services monitoring the Whaley Bridge Dam.

They were deployed as part of the national resilience plan for flood rescue.

As the emergency services worked to repair the dam the Herts Boat Rescue crew were on stand by, while the water was lowered to a safe level.

Thankfully no action was required from the team who spent the week-end in a local Fire Station.

The Stanborough Team were glad to see Alex return safely - even though he was tired after working 12 hours on & 12 hours off!

Herts Boat Rescue are a volunteer organisation who assist with water safety and emergencies locally and nationally. GLL would like to thank the team for their ongoing support for events at Stanborough and assistance with emergency situations.
