Welwyn Garden City Society of Model Engineers Return to Stanborough Park
We are delighted to welcome back the Welwyn Garden City Society of Model Engineers to Stanborough, following a break to their schedule due to the covid restrictions.
The society has been a regular fixture here at the park for over 50 years. Their venue for the club meetings is the Annex to St. Johns church Lemsford, Welwyn Garden City, Herts AL8 7TT; however their lakeside meetings are held at our dedicated model boating lake area, at the far North end of the North lake.
Amongst the membership of the club there is a range of interests which includes R/C boats, Straight Running, Steam, Plastic kit models, Electronics, Engineering and so on. If you are an experienced modeller or if you are just starting out, you will be sure to find a warm welcome at the club, take a look at their website here wgcsme.wordpress.com

2) Sunday 24th April - 11.00 start - Straight running regatta with fun RC event - day event.
3) Saturday 7th May - 18.00 start - Lakeside meeting.
4) Saturday 4th June - 18.00 start - Lakeside meeting.
5) Saturday 2nd July - 18.00 start - Lakeside meeting.
6) Saturday 6th August - 18.00 start - Lakeside meeting.
7) Monday 15th August - 18.00 start - club meeting at lakeside.
8) Sunday 11th September - 11.00 start - Anniversary Regatta - day event
9) Saturday 1st October - 14.00 start – Lakeside Meeting
10) Saturday 5th November - 14.00 start – Lakeside Meeting
11) Saturday 3rd December - 14.00 start – Lakeside Meeting
Other model boat users are very welcome to make use of the model boat lake at Stanborough, outside of the Society meeting times.
