250 Better leisure centres across the UK are supporting National Fitness Day on 24 September by offering FREE activities.

Now in its 14th year,  this year's theme for National Fitness Day (NFD) is Powered By You - and aims to get people to take steps towards a healthier lifestyle.

NFD is run by leisure industry body ukactive - the day highlights the positive contribution that physical activity can have on an individual's physical and mental health - while providing the opportunity to make social connections.

Whether it’s trying a new activity, joining a class, or simply moving more as part of a daily routine, NFD is the perfect chance to get started.  Better leisure centres are offering try outs for Pickleball, a Zumba or Cardio class or a 45 minute swimming lesson for total beginners or those wanting to improve their technique.

Better leisure facilities are operated by charitable social enterprise GLL.

Joe Rham, Customers and Communities Director at GLL said:

"For National Fitness Day 2025, we are looking to build on last year when an extra 100,000 people visited us for free - giving many more people the opportunity to take small steps to protect and improve their health.

"National Fitness Day is an important day in our calendar; as a purposed organisation rooted in the local community we are proud to support it and play our part in improving the health of our nation."

For those who can't make it into a centre, Better at Home offers inspiring home gym classes and a free library of over 2,000 online fitness classes to Better members.
