In the week when Councils across the country backed Marcus Rashford's campaign to end holiday hunger, Better's Woolwich Library celebrated its successful Read & Feed project in front of national and international media.

Senior Librarian Tatyana da Souza said:

"The start of the October half-term has been busy and it was such a joy to see a lot of our regular families and members back using the library facilities ‘like old times’.

"The Read & Feed was a great success - with 80 packed lunches finished within 45mins. We are going to increase these to 100 by the end of the week to meet demand."

The event was run in partnership with The Royal Borough of Greenwich, whose Mayor and Leader popped by to meet local residents accessing the scheme.
