Alastair Walker World Record Achieved

On the 9th June,The Sheepmount was host venue for the Finish Line for the Sport In Action Castle 5K Series. This is a series of 5k runs throughout the summer months in Carlisle and the first one  started in spectacular style as Alastair Walker, of the Teviotdale Harriers recorded a time of 17 minutes and 9 seconds on the chip when crossing the finish line at The Sheepmount Athletics Staduim Track. This is a new world record time for a 65 year old and a outstanding achivement to add to his already impressive medal tally in Masters athletics.
