Walking sports can be a great way to become active or re-start activity that you may once have played or enjoyed. Following our demonstration session at our centres birthday celebrations on the 21st August, we are pleased to announce some further sessions.

Walking activities and sports can be a great way to get involved in activity, everyone can feel the benefits of walking sports. It is an excellent way to stay fit and healthy, most importantly, benefits are felt whilst deriving enjoyment, which makes people far more likely to exercise than perhaps the perceived chore of having to just ‘exercise regularly.

As part of our programme development we are creating opportunities for more people to engage and see that joining in activity can have health and wellbeing benefits, but also the ability to meet new people. The chance to socialise and create new friendships, feel less isolated or lonely.

Following some conversations with local people, the chance to introduce walking activities was one that was met with interest. So, here at Liskeard LC we are setting up some sessions that will look to encourage people to come along and have a go at the centre during our new taster sessions in Walking Football and Walking Netball.

Join us for some social activity that is fun, welcoming, and that will start your journey into improving you physical and mental wellbeing.

We will be providing sessions on the following days:

Walking Football - Tuesday 22nd August, 2pm - 3pm in Liskeard LC Sports Hall

Walking Football - Tuesday 29th August, 2pm - 3pm in Liskeard LC Sports Hall

Walking Netball - Tuesday 29th August, 3pm - 4pm in Liskeard LC Sports Hall

We have great instructors and coaches ready to welcome you, and ensure you enjoy the sessions.

We hope to, from these sessions, start up some weekly sessions in September.

We look forward to seeing you.
