The Nations Biggest Sports Day!

We are supporting I AM TEAM GB in hosting some free and fun activities to help everyone get up and get active!

Truro Leisure Centre will be hosting the following taster sessions:

SWIMBiES 10:30am-11:00am

SWIMBiES is our new exciting Baby and Toddler swimming lesson programme at Better. Our baby swimming lessons centre around a child-focused approach, offering a syllabus of fun in the water for confidence that lasts a lifetime.

As a parent, grandparent or guardians you join your little ones in the pool to share first splashes, laughs and fun, with time to share those little moments, as your child develops in the water. It's a fun, safe and calm environment, led by trained and qualified SWIMBiES Teachers who will be with you and your little one every step of the way.

Our SWIMBiES programme takes babies from three months old to age three, preparing them for the next stage of their swimming journey and a lifetime of fun in the water.

Why baby swimming?

Babies have a natural affinity with the water. That's why we develop classes which offer a fun and safe environment for them and you to experience swimming together. Lessons focus on building water confidence for both baby and adult. Swimming will help you bond with baby while exercising gently in the water and improve coordination, develop muscle strength and motor skills from an early age.

Everything from the changing facilities and pool temperature to teacher training is designed to create a safe and calm environment to learn and have fun, alongside:

  • Confidence building
  • Safety exercises
  • Bonding time
  • Games and songs

 

Swim School 11:00am-11:30am

Who is it for? Children aged 4 years and over.

What do they learn? Teaching pupils the essential swimming skills to ensure they learn to be safe in and around water. Learning the basic techniques for all 4 strokes, achieving 10 metres on Front Crawl and Backstroke by the end of their Green milestones.

 

Fitness Class Taster 10:00am-11:00am

Staying motivated can always be a challenge, but with a wide variety of fitness classes available at Truro Leisure Centre you'll find the perfect way to keep active.

Our fitness classes are grouped into key categories, which help you identify the right classes for you

Total Body Conditioning

Once you start, you won’t ever want to stop. These intense, exciting classes combine cardio and conditioning for a full on, high-energy workout.

Pilates

Pilates Centre yourself. Our Pilates classes come in all shapes and sizes, but they all focus on concentration and muscle control, for a highly effective workout.

Yoga

Loosen up and let go. Our mix of Yoga classes feature a range of exercises from energetic, full-body workouts to relaxing, more traditional poses.

Water Workout

Refresh yourself! These invigorating, effective, but low-impact workouts in the water are easy on your joints. Choose from one of our themed or discipline-based classes.

Dance Aerobics

Dance yourself fit! Our range of Dance Aerobics classes combine exercise and choreography with infectious music to keep you motivated every step of the way. Choose from one of our themed or discipline-based classes.

Group Cycle

Pedal your way fit. Work at your own pace as you cycle along with the group in one of our themed classes to uplifting music, or focus on achieving your goals in one of our discipline -based classes.

Circuits

Intense workout for immense results. We’ll put you through your paces, with high-energy interval training , designed to push you that little bit further and encourage a bit of healthy competition.
