Happy New Year Everyone!

We are thrilled to announce here at Charlton Lido & Lifesyle Club after a sucessful winter challenge last year we have decided to run another winter challenge called Swim the Thames.

The challenge commences 1st January to 1st June and is open to anyone aged 16+

Please note spaces available are very limited, so ensure you book your space today to avoid disappointment.

Who can join the Swim The Thames Challenge?

Anyone aged 16+ can enter the challenge.

What information do we require from the participants?

Membership number & full name.

How do we log participant attendance/distance?

Swimmers will just need to tell the concierge at reception then we will keep a log of it.

What if the customer does not have time to return to reception to log their swim?

If customers are in a rush we can accept emails with proof of the distance/date/location of the swim.

How do we count the distance swum?

Participants can use their own device to record their distance e.g. smart watch or Fitbit or count their lengths and inform us.

Does the full Swim The Thames Challenge have to be swum at Charlton lido?

Yes, the entire challenge has to be completed at Charlton Lido.

What is the cost?

The fee is £10 per person. Members receive a prize for every milestone, a branded hat upon their start, water bottle and stress ball at 65k, then a pin badge upon completing the challenge!

What happens when the distance has been completed for each participant?

Once completed customers will then receive their medal.

Do the participants still need to book in for their swimming session?

Yes, all participants need to pre-book their swimming slot as usual.

What measurement should the distance be recorded in?

Distance should be recorded in metres or KM.

How far is the swim?

The length is 153 KM and members will be swimming only the tidal part of the thames. Customers have 5 months to complete the challenge starting from 1st Jan - 1st June.
