Hackney’s West Reservoir Centre remains open during upgrade works

A year-long upgrade to West Reservoir Centre has started which will make the much-loved facility more inclusive, accessible and environmentally friendly.
Hackney Council's project will deliver new community spaces, better access for swimmers and accessible green space and biodiversity in and around the reservoir – creating a more welcoming destination for both local residents and visitors from across London.

The Centre remains open throughout the project for the thousands of people who visit the site each week for open water swimming and water sports.

The works are due to be completed by May 2026.
