Two young players from Little Giants Volleyball Club who play and train at Brixton and Clapham have recently been selected for the England’s Cadet (U17s) team who are due play in Italy in a few weeks time. The two young players both attended training and trials at the National Volleyball Centre in Kettering as part of the Talent ID selection process.

Duru, who has been playing volleyball since the age of 6 in Turkey has been with the club for three years and was selected for the girl’s squad at the close of the weekend. In 5th grade, Duru was already playing as a setter and later on as the opposite. She loves the adrenaline of the game, especially winning points for her team. She is highly motivated when coaches help with training but also during games. She lives in London and Little Giants are delighted that she decided to play and train at the club.

Henry did especially well to gain selection with only just joining the club in September 2020, a back injury preventing him from playing for several months and then shortly after was stuck in Brazil due to the pandemic and restrictions on travel. When Henry returned to London he rejoined Little Giants with an ever-growing dedication for volleyball and he wants to take his very new career forwards as a player.
