Carers Rights Day at Glass Mill Leisure Centre
In partnership with Imago who run the Maximising the Wellbeing of Unpaid Carers service in the London Borough of Lewisham, we’ll be hosting an event to celebrate Carers Rights Day.
Carers Rights Day will take place between 10.30am and 3.30pm on Thursday 20th November at Glass Mill Leisure Centre.
Come along for an uplifting day filled with valuable insights from service providers all around Lewisham, along with an inspiring discussion on your rights as an unpaid carer. Learn more about your carers rights, and what you are entitled to through the support available to you in Lewisham
Whether you need more information on your workplace, education, accessing health or social care, this day is for you to interact with other professionals, chat with local service providers, hear inspiring talks and meet other unpaid carers, just like you.
The timetable for the day will run as follows:
- 10.30am - Welcome Councillor Laura Cunningham
- 10:45am - Our Voices: Unpaid Carers
- 11:30am-12:30pm - Introduction to Adult Safeguarding Martin Crow Lewisham Adult Safeguarding Board
- 12:30-1:30pm - Light buffet lunch
- 1:30-2:30pm - Talk: Know Your Rights Steven Keily, Imago
- 2:30-3pm - Meditation Session
- 3:30pm - Close
Glass Mill Leisure Centre is located on Loampit Vale opposite the Lewisham train and DLR station, and can be reached using the following buses 21, 47, 136, 225, 436, 321, N21, N136. The centre also has a pay and display car park located on Elmira Street.
