End of an Era at Peter May Sports Centre as Keith Bids Farewell
End of an Era at Peter May Sports Centre as Keith Bids Farewell
For anyone who has visited Peter May Sports Centre in recent years, one face has become synonymous with the venue—Keith, the long-standing Assistant Manager and a much-loved figure within the local sporting community.
Whether you were a block booker, a casual badminton player, or a dedicated cricket enthusiast, Keith was always there with a warm welcome and a helping hand. His presence has been central to the centre's friendly and inclusive atmosphere.
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce Keith's departure from his role at Peter May Sports Centre. After years of dedicated service, Keith is moving on to new opportunities. While his absence will be deeply felt by colleagues, regular users, and first-time visitors alike, we wish him nothing but success and happiness in his future endeavours.
As the centre moves into a new chapter, a refreshed leadership team is stepping in to continue building on Keith’s legacy. The onsite team will now be led by full-time Duty Manager James Hall, supported by part-time Duty Managers Mariya and Ismail. The centre will be overseen by General Manager Fatima El-Faddali.
James brings with him a wealth of leisure experience gained from working across several Better facilities over the past several years, while Fatima has spent the last decade managing multiple sites within the Better network, bringing strong leadership and a passion for community sport to Peter May.
The new team is excited to welcome both existing and new visitors to the centre. Their focus will be on building long-term relationships with local sports clubs, schools, and residents, ensuring Peter May remains a vibrant and welcoming hub for sport and wellbeing in Walthamstow.
The future is bright, and while Keith’s presence will be sorely missed, the Peter May Sports Centre team is looking forward to continuing his legacy of community, excellence, and service.
