East Manchester forms a new relationship

As many people know East Manchester have recently been working very closely with Bridge College and being host to their students whilst they got a taste of working life through different work placements. 

One student that we had, Amy, was on her final 12 week placement before leaving Bridge College. Amy was a great addition to the team here at the centre and was spoken highly of by all of our team members here, likewise Amy really enjoyed her time here and had told her support workers and the team in the centre that " East Manchester has been her favourite placement". 

Away Day Care 

The overall aim of the Away Day Care project is to increase the confidence of individuals who are furthest away from entering the job market. The ultimate objective is to progress individuals into mainstream activities such as voluntary work or employment.

Since leaving college Amy has joined the Away Day Care project and expressed how much she loved being at East Manchester, from there the team have worked very closely with General Manager, Zoe on a way to have Amy return to her previous placement but on a more permanent basis. On  8th September 2022 Amy will once again return and join the East Manchester team and become the familiar Thursday front of house face. 

The team at East Manchester can not wait to have Amy back at the centre, greeting and helping our members.
