We’re delighted to let you know that North City Family & Fitness Centre will soon welcome the new North Manchester Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC), a partnership between Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and Manchester City Council.

This fantastic new facility will be located on the ground floor and will provide the North Manchester community with quick and convenient access to a range of tests to support diagnosis and treatment of health conditions. Initially the service will offer mainly heart and lung tests, as well as eye tests.

The new CDC, which is due to open in early 2024, means patients won’t need to attend North Manchester General Hospital or other larger hospital sites for several key services, resulting in flexible appointments with shorter waiting times.

What this means to you

As part of the enabling works required for this project, a new acoustic floor needs to be installed in the cardio and free weight area of our gym.

This means that some relocation of activities is required from Saturday 2nd December for approximately three weeks until the works are complete:

  • The cardio and free weight area of our gym will be temporarily relocated to our fitness class studio. In order for this to happen the gym will be closed Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December.

  • Fitness classes which would usually take place in our studio on an evening and weekend will be relocated to the Sure Start studio to the left of the gym.

  • Fitness classes which would usually take place in our studio Monday and Friday from 8am to 6pm will be temporarily cancelled.

Keeping you moving...

During this time members will be able to access Abraham Moss Leisure Centre or Broadway Leisure Centre.

We expect that works will be completed and the cardio area of the gym and our full fitness class programme available again as normal on Tuesday 2nd January 2024.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
