GLL Sport Foundation - Reading Athlete's Success!

In Reading, a total of 27 Athletes benefit from the support of GLL's Sport Foundation.

GLL Sports Foundation supports talented athletes to develop performance and sporting success. Applications to GLL Sport Foundation open annually on the 20th December - 20th February. More information about GLL Sport Foundation can be found here: www.gllsportfoundation.org 

2023 is the fifteenth year of GLL Sport's Foundation and we are extremely proud to support so many talented athletes across the UK. In Reading, 27 Athletes successfully applied to the Sport Foundation representing 10 different sporting disciplines. Of the 27 Reading Athletes, 70% of them receive no other support, 22% are from Ethnically Diverse Communities, 89% are under age 21 and 7% have a disability. 

In July, during the European Games 2023, Beatrice Crass and her partner secured two Bronze medals in Artistic Swimming for their performances in the Mixed Duet Technical and Free competitions. Beatrice and her partner (alongside 16 other GSF athletes from across the UK) went on to compete in the 2023 World Aquatic Championships, which were held in Fukuoka Japan. Beatrice and her partner finished in 5th place for the Mixed Duet Technical Event. 

Also in July, Charlotte Payne showcased her talents in the Women's Hammer Throw and was awarded the Silver Medal in the UK Athletics Championship in Manchester.
