We provide all the equipment you need to participate in this exciting watersport.

 

This includes light-weight rigs and wide-style, extra stable boards for beginners, to bigger sails and smaller boards for improvers.

If you haven't tried windsurfing before and think you'll never stand up long enough to move, our qualified instructors are confident they can prove you wrong!

Come and experience windsurfing at Windermere Outdoor Adventure Centre -  the only facility in the area to offer Royal Yachting Association (RYA) approved tuition to the public, allowing you to master this exhilarating sport.

Our kit includes various Hifly and RIO boards suitable for different abilities and Tushingham sails from 2m to 6.5m.

 

RYA Windsurf Courses

 

We offer Adult Start Windsurfing, Adult Intermediate Windsurfing (non-planing), Youth Windsurfing Stages 1, 2 & 3, and Windsurf Start Racing.

 

Taster, half day and full day sessions

You can book a taster session for a couple of hours of windsurfing, or come along for the whole day and learn the basics with one of our fully qualified instructors. You can also work towards RYA qualifications. Please see our programme page for planned taster sessions. You can also book private tuition; prices vary depending on the size of your group. Five and Two Week Courses

Five Week Courses

Throughout the season we offer regular five week courses in windsurfing leading to RYA qualifications and free membership to our Activity Club. These courses follow a more progressive learning style with two hours tuition each week for five weeks. Once you have completed your five week course, you can come and practise what you've learnt at our activity club sessions.

Courses start on the following dates:

14th September

If you are a group of 4 or more we can put on a 5 week course with dates and times convenient to you.

Two Day Courses

 The RYA courses are designed to be completed in two full days by those with the recommended pre-requisite experience. You can book these privately at any time. Alternatively, if you would prefer to join a group, we maintain a list of interested parties and will schedule courses according to demand. This will also reduce the cost of your course. Once you have completed a course you will gain free membership to our Activity Club.
