As we say goodbye to another eventful and challenging year, we would like to take this time to reflect on some of the events that have happened throughout the month of December here at Hatfield Swim Centre.
To you, our customers!
We would like to say a huge thank you to all our customers who brought in Festive cards and treated the staff to a variety of Christmas treats. It is just the encouragement we needed to push that little further into 2024 with our fitness journeys. Now that the sweets have been indulged, the hard (and sometimes painful) work starts all over again. This does not mean we will not enjoy the treats in the future though J
Challenge of the Month Winner – Moses Adebayo
A huge well done to Moses Adebayo, who ploughed through our December challenge of the month “How many inverted rows can you do?” Taking the bragging rights with a total of 40! With 2nd place finishing with 33, Moses ran away with it and all the staff here send on our congratulations to him!

The month of December 2023 saw the team say farewell to one of its long serving members of staff. Our (former) General Manager, James Matthews, moved on to new challenges at GLL’s new partnership in Enfield. James had previously completed over 5 years of service here at Hatfield Swim Centre, overseeing a new era of the centre from its previous days under the Finesse Leisure Partnership banner, to the current GLL banner. James signed off from the Welwyn/Hatfield partnership by being awarded the Energy & Sustainability Award at our annual Communications Day on Thursday 21st December. All staff, current and previous, will be wishing James the very, very best of luck in his new job role and he knows he is always welcome back!
Lastly, we say goodbye to 2023 and we know that all of our customers are ready to smash their challenges for 2024 and we will be right here with you every step of the way!
