Stanborough Park welcomed Herts Boat Rescue, working in partnership with the Emergency Services (Police & Fire) , for a community outreach event that took place at Stanborough back in August. The event’s aim was to promote water safety through education and incident prevention, and  followed the installation of the What 3 Words signage that was placed at site to inform users of how to raise the alarm in an emergency situation.

As part of the event Herts Boat Rescue showcased their skills in water rescue and incident management. Water rescue training is an integral part of their service, it allows their teams knowledge base to stay current and refreshed.

Herts Boat Rescue were awarded funding from the Welwyn Hatfield Community fund to purchase a new water safety craft. The Craft is primarily used within the Welwyn & Hatfield area, the local community and the Stanborough Park site specifically;  but is also available  in flooding emergency situations  where the flood team can be called upon to attend and assist with flood evacuation anywhere in the UK, as part of the UK's National flood response capability.

Stanborough Park regularly work in partnership with Herts Boat Rescue for the safe running of events such as the Cancer Research Race For Life Pretty Muddy obstacle race and various triathlon events. Herts Boat Rescue also  provide additional support for water based emergency situations.
