Splashlands Splashpad wins

Splashlands, situated at Stanborough Park, Welwyn Garden City, was announced as winner in the Community & Schools development category of the 2021 National Landscape Awards.

The facility has welcomed thousands of visitors since it opened in July 2020 and recieved great feedback. It features a paddling river, Splashpad water play area dotted with water jets, and a nautical themed adventure playground with a large pirate ship and a variety of play equipment for children of all ages.

An outdoor gym & sports pitch is also on site for teenagers and adults.

The Community & Schools development category, sponsored by award winning design consultancy, MCM is awared to projects that demonstrate innovative use of materials and or effective use of space. This is in addition to providing a good fit for the community.
