Chipping Norton celebrates the Great Winter Get Together!
As part of the Great Winter Get Together weekend (12-15 January 2024), Chipping Norton Leisure Centre will be holding a Great Winter Get Together.
Inspired by Jo Cox MP, the Great Get Together has been bringing communities together since 2017. Community events around the UK are acting as places where people can find meaningful connection is January, and show that winter doesn’t have to be lonely.
This year’s Great Winter Get Together in Chipping Norton will bring together centre members and local members of the community. The centre will be open to all on Friday 12th January from 10am-12pm with free tea and coffee available throughout the event.
Simon Cowdery, event organiser and General Manager of the centre, said: “Winter is a difficult time for some to make those key social connections and there is such a strong community feel in Chipping Norton, it felt like the perfect place to bring everyone together. We look forward to welcoming everyone for a chat, cuppa and game of cards”.
In addition to the refreshments we will also be organising a few small activities to encourage people to come together and spend time at the centre;
- Designated ‘chatty’ tables with a conversation menu to kick start new friendships
- Card games for those with a competitive edge
Everyone is welcome to attend this event and all activities are free of charge.
