Welcome To Richmond

Here you can explore a range of activities and programmes aimed at bringing local residents together and supporting people to move more and sit less.

From social walks and everyday activities to more tailored sessions for children and young people, older adults, disabled residents and women-only groups, we’re committed to creating opportunities for everyone to take part and stay active across the borough.

Alongside activities delivered by Better, this page also features local community groups and organisations we support through our partnerships. Together, we’re encouraging Richmond residents to try new, accessible and enjoyable ways to become and stay active.

Inclusive Swim

An inclusive swim is designed for individuals who may need a more relaxed and supportive swimming environment.

This includes those who take a little more time in the water, people with additional needs, or individuals recovering from injury.

Sessions take place during quieter times, creating a calm atmosphere where participants can feel comfortable, go at their own pace, and receive any support they may need.

Sessions take place at Teddington Pools and Fitness Centre.

Swim for 60+

If you’re looking for a low-impact way to get fit and healthy, swimming could be the perfect choice.

Our Swim for 60+ or Swim for Fitness sessions take place in our bright and uplifting 25-metre indoor pool and 33-metre outdoor pool at Pools on the Park.

Members can choose to swim in either slow, medium and fast lanes, so you can take things at your own pace.

If you have limited mobility and find accessing the pool difficult, we have a Pool Hoist on our main pool at Pools on the Park.
