General Activity Rules

- Check your centre webpage for any extra restrictions as a result of the Covid Tier Alert Level in your area.
- Physical activity or exercise is undertaken at your own risk. If you have any concerns about your health or suitability for your chosen activity you should seek guidance from Doctor or relevant health professional before participating.
- Do not come to the Centre or Venue if you are unwell, have any Covid symptoms or have been told to self-isolate.
- Bookings are valid for the named person only, non-transferable and non-refundable once the purchasing process is complete.
- Arrive at your booked time, not early or late otherwise entry will be refused.
- Always register your attendance by scanning your membership card at the centre reception or entrance gates.
- If fail to attend or cancel less than 4hrs prior to the start of your booking you may incur a penalty charge and have your membership blocked until this is paid off.
- You will need to complete your activity and be out of the building within one hour. During quieter periods (prior to 5pm Monday to Friday) customers will be able to stay in the gym for longer than 50minutes if the capacity has not been reached.
- You must not go from the one activity to another. You need separate bookings and you must exit and re-enter using the approved routes.
- Listen to our staff at all times and follow their instructions.
- Follow one way systems and Covid Secure notices and signage staying within marked zones or areas.
- Respect social distancing at all times - Keep 2 metres distance between you and other people.
- Lockers may not be available - where they are available remember to bring change, our Centres and Venues are all cashless.
- There is no equipment available to hire or borrow.
- Bring your own drinking water and hand sanitiser.
- Wear a face covering when entering and leaving the building and transitioning to and from your activity.
- Whilst taking part in an activity you are not required to wear a face mask.
- Wear a face covering at all times if you are not taking part in an activity and remaining in the centre.
- Signage and our staff will indicate areas where a face covering must be worn at all times in areas such as; Cafes, Ten-Pin Bowling Alleys, Spa Treatments, Spectator Areas.
- Those who are not wearing a face covering without an exemption may be refused entry to the building.
- We will pass on your contact details to the NHS ‘Test and Trace’ service if requested to do so.
- There may be additional rules which apply to a particular facility displayed in the Centre or Venue which you will also be required to follow.

Adult and Junior Gym Sessions

- Only children aged between 9 and 15 years are permitted to attend Adult and Junior Gym sessions with an adult.
- As the parent / guardian, by booking you are confirming the following; I realise that the health of the child in my care is my responsibility and that exercise and or physical activity can carry its own risk. I confirm that, if I, or the child in my care, have any concerns about their health and/or their health status changes, I will seek guidance from their General Practitioner or other relevant health professional before they participate in any exercise and/or physical activity.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult and actively supervised at all times. It is the adult’s responsibility to ensure that the terms and conditions are adhered to at all times by you and the child.
- Adult and Child must both remain in the same ‘Covid Box’ at all times whilst in the gym.
- If you or the child are unfamiliar with how to operate any equipment then always ask for safety advice from a member of staff.
- Children are not permitted to use free weights, resistance machines or the assisted chin dip machine during this session.
- Treadmills to be used at a maximum speed of 8km/h and maximum incline of 6.
- Rowing machine to be used on a maximum resistance of 5 and maximum RPM of 30.
- You will need to complete your session and be out of the building within one hour.
- Do not spend more than 15 minutes at any station.
- Bring a personal sweat towel, your own drinking water and hand sanitiser.
- Wipe down all equipment before and after use with the provided cleaning materials – not your towel.
- There will be limited or no changing areas and restricted or no availability of showers, please come changed and shower at home if you can.
- Do not use any equipment that has been placed out of use.
- You must not go from the Gym to the Pool or Class or vice versa. You need separate bookings and you must exit and re-enter using the approved routes.
- No private coaching allowed.

Athletics

1. You will need to complete your session and be out of the facility within one hour.
2. Children aged 8+ are permitted to attend but must be accompanied by a paying adult.
3. There will be no changing areas and no availability of showers, please come changed and shower at home after your session.
4. Only the running track will be available. Do not use any equipment that has been placed out of use including sand pits, pole vault and high jump.
5. If you are unfamiliar with how to operate any equipment then always ask for safety advice from a member of staff.
6. UKA Coaches must pay for sessions and provide proof of a valid and up to date coaching card if coaching.
7. UKA coaches must not exceed UKA guidance on coach to athlete ratios.
8. Bring your own drinking water and hand sanitiser.
9. Exercise responsibly maintaining social distancing during at all times even whilst waiting for the use of certain activity areas.
Badminton

- Pre-booked courts only with maximum of 4 people.
- All people playing together must arrive at the same time.
- Bookings should be made in the name of a player who will be on the court. Players may be asked to leave if the named person who made the booking is not present.
- Change courts responsibly, please vacate your court at least 5 mins ahead of your booking finishing.
- No spectators are allowed other than when accompanying juniors.
- Bring a personal sweat towel, your own drinking water and hand sanitiser.
- Bring your own Racquets and shuttlecocks.
- Maintain social distancing during the game as far as possible.
- You can play singles and doubles using all areas of the court, within the respective court markings.
- If social distancing between adjacent courts cannot be maintained, you should only use the singles court marking.
- Play responsibly in accordance with the Badminton England guidance appropriate to the relevant Covid tier level in your area.
Climbing Walls

1. Competent preregistered climbers only, anyone not previously signed off as competent will be not be able to climb
2. Face masks must be worn in the climbing wall area whilst you are not taking part in activity
3. Bring your own hand sanitiser and use it

5. Only liquid chalk is permitted (loose chalk not permitted)
6. Please allow hands to dry before using the equipment
7. Only one pair of Climbers per designated area

Fitness Class

Golf

1. Pre-booked tee times only with maximum of 4 people.
2. All people playing together must arrive at the same time.
3. Bring your own drinking water and hand sanitiser.
4. No spectators are allowed.
5. Golf equipment should be washed at home prior to and following your round.
6. Please arrange golf equipment and change footwear at your car.
7. Please arrive at the 1st tee or range no more than 5 minutes prior to the reserved time.
8. Ball washers have been removed from use.
9. Bunker rakes have been removed; players are required to smooth sand with feet prior to shot
10. Flagsticks must be left in the hole and must not be touched.
11. The hole cups have been heightened for simple, contact-free ball retrieval.
12. Once a hole is completed, the group in front must have exited the tee box before players can progress to the next hole.
13. Ranges – be aware that your session is a maximum of 1 hour from your booked start time, with 50 minutes on a bay and 10 minutes of turnaround time to ensure the safety of those entering and exiting the range.

Gym

Ice Skating

1. All sessions will be pre book only.
2. All bookings are 1 hour in length which includes entry and exit.
3. All junior under 8years old require adult supervision.
4. No spectators other than for paying juniors, limited to one spectator per junior.

6. Session capacities have been reduced to enable social distancing.
7. Skate responsibly respecting social distancing at all times.
8. Skate hire and skating aids are available, these will be sanitised before use but we ask all customers to wipe down before handing back to skate hire.
9. Lockers are available to store personal items – remember to bring change, our centres and venues are all cashless.
10. Public skating sessions are available to customers of all abilities.
11. Training ice is only available to those with a training ice membership or a private lesson booked with an ice coach.

Junior Gym

1. Junior gym is restricted to members above 11 years and under 16 years of age.
2. At the start of your Junior Gym Session you must report to the Fitness Instructor or another member of staff for a safety briefing.
3. Before participating in Junior Gym you must complete one of our Junior Gym Induction classes.
4. If you are unfamiliar with how to operate any equipment then always ask for safety advice from a member of staff.
5. You will need to complete your session and be out of the building within one hour.

2. Come “Pool ready” if you can, including showering before you set off if possible.
3. Your booking only includes access to one activity.
4. Please do not use any equipment or features that has been placed out of use.
5. Please bring your own floatation aids if required, there will none available to hire or borrow at the centre. Use of large inflatable toys is not permitted.
6. All juniors should be accompanied by an adult.
7. Please ensure you and your family maintain social distancing at all times in the pool and whilst queuing for features.
Outdoor Classes

Spa Treatments

1. We will not be accepting walk-ins, you must pre-book your treatment.
2. 15 minute cleaning time will be allocated in between each guest.
3. We will greet you warmly but without a handshake or a hug.
4. Bring your own drinking water and hand sanitiser.
5. Hand sanitiser must be used on entry, prior to the treatment appointment.
6. Bring a minimum of personal belongings with you to your appointment
7. Attend your appointment alone unless attending with a carer.
8. You will be required to wear a face covering when attending your appointment at Spa Experience, your therapist will guide you as and when to remove for certain treatments.
9. We ask that you pay online at point of booking, or via card for retail items. Any retail items purchased on the day will be via card payment only.
10. You will be escorted to your treatment room by your therapist on arrival, to avoid congestion in the reception areas.
11. Contact us and re-arrange your appointment, if you have a temperature, or are feeling unwell; or if any person in your household is unwell or is self-isolating.
12. Do not come to the spa if you or anyone you live with is unwell or self-isolating.
Squash

- You will need to complete your match and be out of the building within 40 minutes. Match play is allocated at 35 minutes plus 5 minutes for cleaning.
- You will need to use cleaning products provided to clean common touch points and courts walls accidently touched during play. There is 5 minutes cleaning time allocated at end of your booking.
- No spectators are allowed other than when accompanying juniors.
- Public courts not to be booked for the purpose of private coaching.
- Bring a personal sweat towel, your own drinking water and hand sanitiser.
- Bring your own squash equipment.
- Play responsibly in accordance with the England Squash guidelines appropriate to the relevant Covid tier level in your area.
Studio Space

Surf Belfast

1. I or anyone I have purchased a ticket for will not hold the management, directors, staff or volunteers of Better responsible for any accidents; injury; loss or damage whilst on the premises.
2. I engage in activities at my own risk.
3. I hereby agree to accept full responsibility for myself and/or anyone in my booking and consent for anyone under the age of 16 that I purchase a ticket for (if applicable) during participation on Surf Belfast.
4. I give my permission for medical assistance to be administered in the case of an accident or emergency to myself or anybody that I have purchased a ticket for.
5. Surf Belfast activities are not recommended for persons who have heart, back or neck conditions, or people who are pregnant. If you suffer from any health problems, illness or may be pregnant please consult your doctor for medical advice before visiting any Better facilities.
6. The online booking facility for each public session will close 30 minutes before the start of that session.
7. There is a "no re admittance" policy in operation for Surf Belfast. Online booking vouchers are valid for a single entry only.
8. Every person participating must have a valid admission ticket for that session.
9. All bookings are valid only for the person named on the booking voucher. Booking vouchers are non-transferable and non-refundable once the online purchasing process is completed.
10. Customers are required to adhere to Surf Belfast rules and regulations on display. Failure to do so may result in entry being refused. The refusal of entry is in any case entirely at the discretion of GLL.
11. Centre programming (and thus the provision of public sessions) is subject to change and availability from time to time.
12. Riders must be a minimum of 4ft (1.2m) in height to participate.
13. Be mindful and considerate of other riders.
14. No food or drinks are permitted in the activity area.
15. Do not stand on the matting at the back of the ride at any time.
16. Only 1 rider is allowed on the ride at any one time.
17. Do not enter the ride area until instructed to do so by the ride attendant.
18. Riders must wear a t-shirt or rash vest at all times.
19. No wrestling, tackling or horseplay is permitted on the ride.
20. Do not operate mobile phones, cameras, or similar equipment.
21. Please wear appropriate clothing; no buckles or studs and we advise you to remove all jewellery.
22. Remove objects from your pockets before riding.
23. Listen to our staff at all times and follow instruction.

Swim

3. Changing areas will only be available after your swim. Shower facilities may not be available, check with your local centre.
4. Respect lane discipline and other swimmers, there may be mixed abilities.
5. Swim responsibly maintaining social distancing when in the pool and watch where you’re going especially when swimming backstroke.
6. Competent swimmers of club standard over the age of 11 are allowed to book ‘Swim for Fitness’
7. ‘Adult & Child’ Sessions are available to children of all ages but must have adult supervision (Maximum ratio: 1 Adult with 2 Children)
8. You must not go from the Pool to the Gym or Class or vice versa. You need separate bookings and you must exit and re-enter using the approved routes
9. Bring your own swimming equipment and floats. Use of large inflatable toys is not permitted.
10. Please do not use any equipment that has been placed out of use.
11. Outdoor Pools Only – in the event of adverse weather conditions, customers will be evacuated from the water and asked to leave. All sessions will be cancelled from the time of the thunder / lighting, until 30 minutes after the last strike. Swimmers will be issued with a credit if they are unable to complete their session by more than 20 minutes.
Tennis

Thermal Spa / Health Suite

1. It may not be advisable to use thermal experience facilities for some medical conditions. If in doubt, please seek medical advice

3. Changing areas and lockers will be available for use, you will however have limited time to get ready after your spa session
4. Guests must adhere to the social distance rules and capacity rules of each area within the thermal spa
5. Keep hydrated, water can be brought into the spa or purchased at spa reception before entering
6. No shaving or exfoliating
7. No hair dyes or oils permitted
8. No food or glass bottles
9. Over 16 years only are permitted
10. Loungers may not be reserved; no items are to be left on loungers that are not in use
11. Bathing suits must be worn at all times
Trampoline Park

1. All bookings are one hour in length, which includes 15 minute briefing.
2. Juniors will require supervision inline with the following ratios :-
Under 5’s - 2:1 (Family session only).
Under 5’s - 1:1 (General Sessions).
5-7 years - 4:1
3. Only one spectator per paying junior (8-15 Years old.).
4. You must wear Better trampoline socks when jumping. 5p of every sock purchase is donated to the GLL Sports Foundation Charity.
5. All attendees will be asked to wear a coloured wrist band to identify your allocated session
6. Not all features will be open for your safety.
7. On the park maintaining social distancing during session, and please vacate the park when your session comes to an end.
8. Be mindful and considerate of other jumpers. Do not distract or interrupt others whilst jumping.
9. No food or drink in the activity area. Sports style water bottles are allowed.
10. No lying down or sitting on trampolines.
11. Do not grab any safety pads or safety netting.
12. Do not jump or land on the coloured padding.
13. Only single flips are permitted. Flips across pads or bed to bed are not allowed.
14. No double bouncing (bouncing someone else higher).
15. Only one person on each trampoline at a time.
16. Always land on two feet or your seat.
17. No wrestling, racing, tackling or horseplay.
18. Do not use mobile phones, cameras, or similar equipment on trampolines.
19. Please wear appropriate clothing; no buckles or studs and we advise you to remove all jewellery. Remove objects from your pockets before jumping.
20. Please be aware that during certain public sessions part of the trampoline park may have restricted access and/or disco lighting and music may be used.
21. The maximum weight permitted for the trampoline park is 21 Stone/133kg. Please note that some features have a lower weight limit and this restriction is highlighted on the entry to the feature.
Virtual Cycle
