On Tuesday 7th October 2025, Better are hosting the Senior Club Games at White Horse Leisure and Tennis Centre, and we’d like you to take part!

This event aims to bring together those aged 60+ to participate in a mixture of sports competitions, giving you the chance to represent your local leisure centre and make new friends whilst getting active together.

Below is everything you need to know...

What is the Club Games?

Our corporate mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of the communities we operate within through physical activity and sport.

The Club Games first launched in London in 2007 and have grown bigger and better each year!

This year, we wanted to extend the opportunity to our outer-London partnerships to get involved as well. At the start of the year, we reached out to members aged 60+ in Reading, Basingstoke, Newbury, West Oxfordshire, South Oxfordshire and The Vale of White Horse to find out which events you'd be most interested in participating in. As a result of this, we are hosting a Senior Club Games at the White Horse Leisure & Tennis Centre in Abingdon, made up of Pickleball, Badminton, Short Tennis, Boccia and Table Tennis.

Format

Club Games will be a pairs competition (but don’t worry if you don’t have a partner and you still want to compete – complete the entrance form and we’ll do our best to pair you up!) consisting of five sports.

Each pair must compete in two sports, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Travel

Transport is being arranged to depart from Chipping Norton Leisure Centre, Faringdon Leisure Centre, Henley Leisure Centre, Rivermead Leisure Centre, Thame Leisure centre, Wantage Leisure Centrem Windrush Leisure Centre, Basingstoke Sports Centre and Newbury Better Health & Fitness Centre. If you require transport, please indicate this on your registration form and you will be contacted with further details.
