FITQUEST
FitQuest uses standard bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) and bioelectrical impedance spectroscopy (BIS) techniques to determine body composition. BIA is a technique that estimates body composition by injecting a very small electric current into the body and measuring how it travels through the body, with BIS using multiple frequencies to further refine the results.
The speed the current passes through fat is slower than the speed it passes through the rest of the body, and as such, BIA devices are able to determine the impedance of the signal through the body and therefore estimate the subject’s total body water (TBW). This can then be used to estimate the fat free body mass of the person.
Together with other parameters, such as your body height, weight and gender, body fat can be estimated.
FitQuest measures human performance over eight parameters: upper body strength, upper body endurance, cardiovascular fitness, lower body strength, lower body endurance, speed ability, explosive power and balance (motor sensory control). It combines these to provide an overall fitness assessment for the individual user.
As soon as an individual steps onto the platform, FitQuest prompts them for some basic information. It then guides the individual through 4 simple exercises and a heart rate recovery measurement.
The overall assessment takes only four minutes. Once the tasks have been completed, the results are displayed on the screen immediately. It is FREE for members to use
