Held annually on Wednesday 21st September, National Fitness Day brings the nation together to celebrate Fitness, uniting people from all walks of life for their love of Fitness. #FitnessUnitesUS

Here at Better Gym Brentwood our aim was to get Brentwood active!

The team were out in force spreading the joy and passion they have for fitness and physical activity as well as just being a friendly face to talk to, raising the awareness and importance of being and staying active for both the physical body and mentally wellbeing.

With a pop up stand located just outside the Baytree Shopping Centre, the Brentwood public were encouraged to take part in our simple Fitness Challenge, giving an insight into their current fitness levels and an understanding of how simple it is to stay active.

Physical activity looks different for everyone… it could be sticking to an App in the comfort of your own home, running marathons or popping on those headphones and training down at your local gym, but following campaigns such as ‘Couch to 5K’, ‘This Girl Can’ and ‘Active 10’ most of us are aware that just 20 -30 minutes of moderate physical activity per day aids to keeping us all fit and healthy.

The public were not the only ones in for a day of fun and celebration!

With an additional Zumba class to which both members and non-members were invited along to, our instructor Kerrie had participants shimmying away, an enjoyable time had by all,  brightening up a wintery day with Latin beats, merengue moves and salsa steps.

We would like to think we spread the message of National Fitness Day and made an impact on the Brentwood public.

If you were unable to get involved this year but would like to hear more about what we got up to, check out our social media pages for more images and footage from the day.
