The 26 year wait to bring an exhibition class ice rink to Cambridge will finally conclude on Bank Holiday Monday when the Cambridge Ice Arena opens for the first time to the public.

Up to 1,000 eager customers have already bagged free sessions during the Open Day that will allow the first skaters to take to the ice.

Tickets for sessions from 27 August can be purchased in advance at www.better.org.uk/book

The £5.5m facility on Newmarket Road will not only provide a regular recreational skating programme to the public but also be the home to the Cambridge University Ice Hockey Team who during the 20 game season will be able to play at home for the first time.
