General Manager of Better Maindy Centre, Anthony Hayes, will be undertaking the gruelling challenge of  running 50 miles along the Gower coastline on 6th October, to raise vital funds for Stand up to Cancer.

Anthony is aiming to complete this incredible task in honour of all of his work colleagues during his employment at both Cardiff Council and GLL, who have either been touched by, or lost their lives to Cancer over the years.

As Anthony runs, he will be dedicating each mile to a colleague by reading out their names along the route.

Mile 50 will be a tribute to Rachel Day - a valued member of staff at Llanishen Leisure Centre, who sadly lost her life to Sepsis a year ago.

We would like to wish Anthony the very best of luck in this incredible challenge which is certain to push him physically and emotionally.

If you would like to join us in supporting Anthony, Stand up to Cancer donation points will be available in each of the Better centres in Cardiff from 1st October.

Good luck Anthony – from all us here at Better, Cardiff.
