Kieran Mackey’s London Black Belt Academy Hosts Thrilling Open Karate Championship at Barking Sporthouse & Gym!

London, UK — The London Black Belt Academy, led by renowned 7th Dan Tang Soo Do master Kieran Mackey, recently held its highly anticipated Open Championship, drawing 200 competitors from across the UK and beyond. The event showcased the skill and spirit of martial artists ranging in age from 5 to 50 years old.

Kieran Mackey, a veteran martial artist with over 43 years of experience, has been a pillar of the East London Karate community since he began teaching in 1992. His dedication to Tang Soo Do Karate has helped nurture generations of students at venues such as Newham Leisure Centre, Castle Green Sports Centre, and Al Mandia Mosque in Barking.

The championship was elevated by the presence of special guests Grandmaster Nar from Ireland and Grandmaster Trugill from Wales, who lent their expertise and support to the vibrant competition. Under Kieran’s leadership, the London Black Belt Academy fosters a family atmosphere where students are encouraged to work hard, learn, and grow both on and off the mat.

“We travel all over the world competing in tournaments,” said Kieran Mackey. “We also organize fundraising efforts to help children who cannot afford to travel and compete. My motto is ‘To Be The Best, Train With The Best.’”
