Barking Sporthouse have given your  gym areas and Studio a face lift with new colourful wall artwork brightening up the Fitness area’s making your time here more motivating and appealing to the eye.  Both the main gym and top floor Functional area has a new music station blasting out a more energised gym based tracks with better beats to keep you engaged and working that little bit harder.

We have given you some new weight lifting plates in the strength Zone as well as replenished some dumbbells for the main gym.   We have put a couple more fans in the spin studio to keep you cool during those highly intense cycle classes.  And on top of all that we have purchased some extra bits and pieces, including some equipment to make your classes more interesting and appealing.  If you like yoga or Pilates, there are soft balls to work with and enough for everyone in the class.  More straps and blocks to aid you in some of those more challenging positions and exercises.

We have recently increased the class timetable with new classes and a new instructor.  So show your support and attend Ivan’s Group Cycle class on Thursday evenings, Or Melissa’s Step and Pilates on a Friday morning.  If you want something more relaxing there is Mindfulness with Eddie, a meditation based class on Saturday and Monday’s straight after Yoga.  To top it off we will be re-launching in the up and coming weeks, Bounce Fit (formally known as Extreme Air). An energetic and really fun class based on the trampolines!! So get ready everyone!

We have also had a recruitment drive employing a number of new people to work in various sectors of Sporthouse.  Energised Extreme assistants, working across the Trampoline park, Climb Zone and Skate park giving the public a fantastic experience. Catering assistants, serving the public and members alike with array of hot/cold food and beverages to get everyone taste buds going.  Concierge, a friendly and welcoming new team to start your Sporthouse journey off to a positive start. And our housekeeper’s doing their upmost to keep all areas of this huge building clean and tidy.

Not only that but we at Sporthouse also see potential in our staff and are committed to developing their skills and knowledge.  We have invested in training a number of staff to be level 1 and level 2 qualified  in climbing to give you the customer a better and safe experience.  We have put Harry, previously an extreme assistant on the GLL Level 2 Fitness Instructor Course.  He has successfully passed the practical and anatomy assessment and is well on his way to be our newly qualified Full time Fitness Instructor!
