We are all currently facing extraordinary energy cost increases.

In response to this, we are taking a number of measured steps to offset energy costs and invest in to energy saving technologies whilst we try to minimise disruption and prices to customers.

What are we been doing to make a difference?

  • Replaced the main pool cover
  • Reconfigured light switching to allow for partial lighting when natural light allows in specific areas
  • Replaced a large percentage of light fittings with energy saving LED fittings in the gym area, swimming pool changing rooms and studio 1
  • Reviewed air handling & timings to coincide with our programme
  • Installed PIR sensors on lighting in low footfall areas
  • Keeping certain pieces of gym equipment switched of during quiet periods whilst still having every machine type available.
  • Keeping our pool cover on the teaching pool during the day when it is not in use
  • Replacing and leaking taps and showers to minimise water wastage

We also still have further spend to save measures planned for this year including the following:

  • Further replacement showers & taps
  • Replacing the remaining areas which do not yet have LEDs with energy saving LED fittings

We are also making a conscious effort to improve our recycling provision and have recently purchased additional dual purpose bins.  To help us become more environmentally friendly we encourage all customers to dispose of any waste in the correct bins.  If we all work together we can really make a difference!
