For this International Women’s Day, on Wednesday 8 March 2023, the theme is #EmbraceEquity and we’ll be targeting women of all ages in the borough to take part in activities Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub during the day.

Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women's equality. Collectively we can all #EmbraceEquity.

At Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub there will be women’s only fitness classes throughout the day,

  • 9am-9.45am HIIT
  • 10.15am-11.15am Pilates
  • 7.15pm-8.15pm Fitness Rebounder

All classes can be booked via the BETTER app.

Gunnersbury Park will also be hosting an International Women’s Day Part Two which will take place the following day on Thursday 9th March with a Women’s only Tennis session 9.30am-10.15am. This will be lead be an LTA qualified coach and will include fun drills and match play. No booking required just turn up, equipment provided.  The session is open to all ages, abilities and will be a great opportunity to dust off your racket and get back playing as spring and the summer approaches. Tennis is a great way to have fun, meet new friends, train and get fit and healthy, whatever your age, level or ability. It offers a whole body workout and can help improve stamina, help with weight loss, tone muscles, improve balance and can help with your mental health.

Everyone, everywhere can play a part in helping forge gender equality. From a wide range of IWD campaigns, events, rallies, lobbying and performances - to fitness classes and celebrations - all IWD activity is valid. That's what makes IWD so inclusive worldwide.
