Team Lewisham Club Games participants needed
We are looking for 60+ residents to represent Lewisham at Better’s annual Club Games.
Our Club Games is the UK’s largest 60+ multi-sport competition taking place at the iconic Copper Box Arena and London Aquatics Centre. The event will take place in Tuesday 26th September
If you are aged 60 or older and want to represent Lewisham against 23 other London boroughs and competitors from across the Home Counties then sign up today. In 2019 over 750 people took part in our Club Games.
We are looking for people to represent Lewisham across a range of activities, so if you or if you know anyone who would like to represent the borough here are the sports we are looking for competitors for.
- Badminton
- Darts
- Dominoes
- Short Mat Bowls
- Short Tennis
- Table Tennis
- Timed Cycle
- Timed Swim*
- Walking Netball (will take place at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre on Friday 22nd September)
* Timed Swim is held at the London Aquatics Centre but swimmers must attend the opening ceremony at the Copper Box Arena to listen to announcements ahead of the Timed Swim competition.
If you would like to take part all participants will be required to pay a £4.00 registration fee to their Club Games team leader matthew.houghton@gll.org and submit their registration pack to Club.games@gll.org by FRIDAY 22nd SEPTEMBER.

The Copper Box Arena and London Aquatics Centre is in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford, London.
By train/tube- The nearest underground stations are Hackney Wick (5 minute walk) and Stratford (15 minute walk). Stratford International station is just a 10 minute walk away and St Pancras International & Kings Cross stations are just seven minutes away by train to Stratford International.
By bus- The 388 bus runs every 10 minutes from Stratford bus station to Blackfriars station and stops directly outside the Copper Box Arena (stops M & N)
By car- The M25 is only a 25 minutes’ drive away. It’s recommended that public transport is used to reach the venue. Otherwise, there is plenty of parking available in nearby Westfield or multi-storey car park near Here East.
