Women Only Swimming
In Waltham Forest we have women and girls swimming so that those with religious barriers can access our leisure facilities or for those that simply prefer to swim with no men around. At the same time it is possible to book onto Swim Doctor Learn which provides adults with swimming tips in a group setting. Women only sauna use is also bookable during the listed activities.

The assistant manager for Leytonstone Leisure Centre who previously managed swimming development for Waltham Forest Sevin Crawford had this to say on the programme, “It is important that women feel comfortable swimming in Waltham Forest. It has not been easy to organise but starting on August 15th there will be four nights a week where women can swim in the comfort that no men should be there.”
Better are committed to increasing physical activity in Waltham Forest and review the leisure centre programmes so that there is a varied offering that encourages people from all communities to take part. If some people need more support to access our services it is possible that adjustments can be made such as women only or targeted sessions in partnership with a local organisation like Age UK Waltham Forest.
