We are really proud to share with you the stories of two of our inspirational members, who through hard work and dedication, have managed to transform their health and wellbeing.

Name: Chavier Lowe

Chavier is a former Youth NFL player who had the ambition to become a professional athlete. Whilst playing as a youth at a competitive level, he sustained a knee injury which ruled him out of physical activity requiring 12 months of rehabilitation.

The long lay-off from sport became a huge barrier to his dream to be a professional at the sport he loved. Not being able to participate at his desired level and a lack of support resulted in Chavier quitting NFL. The mental scar from his broken dream resulted in Chavier adopting a sedentary life style, becoming less attentive to his physical health and experiencing weight gain as he approached his late 20’s.

Things began to change for Chavier when, at the age of 29, he welcomed his first child.  His lack of fitness and the physical demands he experienced in raising his daughter motivated Chavier to get back into shape. He wnted to become a role model for his child.

It was at that point that Chavier decided to join us at Better Gym Walthamstow Stadium with the ambition of improving his health and wellbeing. Working with the team to create a workout program suitable to achieve targets and goals Chavier began his journey to a healthier lifestyle. General fitness, hard work, consistency and a balanced diet resulted in him going from 17 stone to a fantastic 12.5 stone within 6 months of training.

A great achievement and a wonderful outcome for Chavier.

Name:   Harry Groom

During the pandemic whilst gyms were closed, and due to a subsequent lack of physical activity Harry found himself gaining weight becoming the heaviest that he had weighed. This resulted in poor general fitness which made him a lot more conscious and ultimately impacted on his self confidence.

Following the re-opening of gyms, a work colleague of Harry, who is a member at Better Gym Walthamstow Stadium motivated and encouraged him to take up boxing at the gym.

Harry's committment and dedication to his new found activity, along with a balanced diet, resulted in Harry losing a total of 5 stone in 5 months.

Harry has now fallen in love with the gym, becoming one of our regular members, engaging in group workouts and enjoying our social events.

Harry felt the need to share his gym success as it has had a massive impact on his mental and physical health. The personal results gained at the gym have resulted in Harry considering a change in career by following his passion and becoming a Personal Trainer.

Congratulations to Harry on his hard work and fantastic achievements.

All of us at Better Gym Walthamstow Stadium are really proud of you both.
