Congratulations to Oliver!
The GLL Sport Foundation supports talented athletes across the UK. Manchester Squash Academy player Oliver was the recipient of a talent award from the foundation in 2022. Oliver competed in the Lancashire Junior County Championships on 2nd October followed by the North West England Regional Championships on 8th October. Both tournaments bring together the best players in the county and region respectively to battle for the titles.
First up, the Lancashire County Championships, Oliver was the top seed for the tournament and went on to win the county title without dropping a game. The following weekend Oliver was once again top seed winning all four of his matches to take home the regional title to add to his county title. The first time he has won either of these tournaments. Well done to Oliver for this great achievement. Oliver continues to train every week at the National Squash Centre and he has been selected to represent the Lancashire County team in November. Following his birthday, Oliver will now progress up to the next age group where he will compete in the under 13 category.
