The Lancashire Junior County Championships held on 2nd October brought together the best players in the county to battle for the Lancashire County title. The Manchester squash community programme players won four county titles and a further six runners-up. Well done to all of them. However, the stars of the day were the under 9 players. Albert, Eyad, Mitaire and Yahya were playing in their first-ever squash tournament. They all played and refereed each other. The matches were played in great spirit with some brilliant squash rallies. Yahya walked away in first place with Mitaire closely behind as the runner-up. Each of the under 9 stars has progressed from a school session or a junior beginner session to participating in an official tournament in a matter of months. A huge well done to them all – they are all looking forward to their next tournament!
