England Squash has announced the shortlisted candidates for the 2023 England Squash Awards. The awards aim to celebrate the inspirational work of people across the sport and showcase their stories and achievements across eight categories.

The Manchester Squash Academy has not one, but two young squash players shortlisted for the England Squash Rising Star of the Year Award.

This is an incredible achievement for Maebh and Mitaire. It is a testament to the efforts and conduct of the two players.

In 2023, Maebh achieved the below,

  • reached her first England Squash tournament final
  • won her first silver and gold performance tournament matches
  • represented the Lancashire County team
  • selected to train with the North West Aspire

All this whilst age 6!

In 2023, Mitaire achieved the below,

  • won six England Squash tournaments
  • reached the final of the British Junior Squash Championships
  • reached three performance event finals
  • represented the Lancashire County team
  • selected to train with the North West Aspire

Both Mitaire and Maebh are exceptionally well-behaved in all coaching sessions and competitions. They both love learning new tactics and improving their technique. It is a pleasure to have them both in the programme.

Winners for the 2023 England Squash Awards will be announced on Wednesday 10 April via the England Squash official website and social media channels.
