Congratulation to Jaguars WBC  who took first place in division 1 at the British Wheelchair Basketball National Championship Finals 2023 at the weekend!

The first division team includes the talents of Ian Brown, our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Manager as well as Angus Drew and Richard Sargent who work on our Wheelchair Sport Programme, alongside their teammates James Hazzell, Joe Bestwick & Simon West.

Jaguars play at Newark and have satellite clubs at One NK, North Kesteven and Meridian, Louth as well as monthly sessions taking place in Market Rasen.

NK Jags act as a satellite club for Jaguars Wheelchair Basketball Club. Formed in the early 90's almost all of the current squad that play in the 2 Jaguars teams in the national leagues of the British Wheelchair Basketball Association (GBWBA) have started their playing career at OneNK under NK Jags.

This season both teams reached the National Championship Playoffs held in Manchester on 20/21 May with the clubs 2nd team coming fourth overall in division 3, and the 1st team finishing 1st overall in division 1 resulting in promotion into the Premier League for the 23/24 season.

This is the highest level of wheelchair basketball that Britain has to offer (apart from the GB squad) and the NK Jags are proud to have been the starting point for players who have attained international accreditation with names such as Richard Sargent and Joe Bestwick, both of whom still reside in Lincolnshire and helped take the Jaguars to this years success.

Many of our 2nd team continue to train at OneNK every Monday along with the coaching staff and a selection of 1st team players.
