Hatfield Leisure Centre – Badminton No-Strings Competition
Hatfield Leisure Centre Hosted a No-Strings Badminton competition on Sunday the 18th of June, with local clubs and participants.
The competition had visitors from our home venue Hatfield Leisure Centre, David Lloyd Hatfield, Herts Sports Village No Strings, East Herts CBN & National Badminton Goffs Academy Adults. All of the local clubs had great representation across all of the categories throughout the tournament.
On a very hot Sunday the tournament was scheduled for 2 hours of friendly but strong competitive badminton, the field consisted of varied abilities & groups.
Each match consisted of a mixed doubles, a men’s doubles and a women’s doubles pair which was great to organise and shows the level of appetite locally for competitive badminton.
Each match had been heavily contested with some very tight games coming down to the deciding point, the standard was very high throughout the morning.
The final result was first place and medals for Herts Sports Village No Strings, (Ken, Joe, Carol & Paula) 2nd Place GLL Hatfield Leisure Centre (Stuart, Will, Marie & Ku) 3rd Place David Lloyd Hatfield (Jasdeep, Sandeep, Andrea & Sharon) 4th Place National Badminton Adults (Ben, Chris, Weili & Claudia) & 5th Place East Herts CBN (Nathan, Adam, Erin & Molly).
I would like to thank all of the participants for attending the tournament and a special mention to Ian Robinson & Ku for making yet another successful Badminton Event which included all of the local community clubs and has set the standard to ensure we engage locally through sports events.
