With Christmas just around the corner and the challenges that our facing us as a country we wanted to try and do something to help the wider community this Christmas.

We have partnered with our local food bank Hope Food to gather donations to help those in need of a bit of help this Christmas. With the cost of living crisis and soaring bills times are getting tougher for a lot of us with many needing the vital help provided by local foodbanks.

In 2021/22 Trussell Trust supplied 2.2 million three day emergency food parcels which was an increase of 14% on pre pandemic levels in 2019/20. 207,665 of those emergency parcels were handed out within the West Midlands. Food prices have been predicted to rie by 9.5 to 10% in 2022. With an estimated 2.56 million people in the UK now using food banks this is becoming an even more important way of helping our local communities.

Within our club in Mere Green we have always prided ourselves on our community spirit and hope that you will join us in donating to those who need it most. Hope Food has told us that they need Tinned products such as meat, veg or fruit or any other long life products. They are also looking for donations of Cereals, pasta, rice, tea/coffee , pasta  as well as biscuits and selection boxes. Any other donations are also appreciated. If you are unable to bring donations into club but would also like to contribute below is a link to their just giving page where you can also donate money to their great cause.

We will be taking donations until the 18th December and a member of the team will take your donations over to the Ark Community church where they run a weekly food bank.

Thank you,

The Better Team
