Meet the Manager

Hi, I’m Tom, I’m the General Manager at Better Gym Mere Green.

I’ve been working within the leisure industry for around 18 years, working at Mere Green for 12 of those. I am also a Partnership Manager within the Central Region, responsible for overseeing Better Gym Mere Green, Walsall Wood, Sheffield and Bradford.

I started life in the industry as Leisure Assistant before becoming a Membership Consultant, Sales Manager and then General Manager. I genuinely really enjoy my job and love being part of our fantastic team. I’d like to think over the years we’ve created a really enjoyable environment to come into, whether you’re here for a workout, class, sauna/steam room or just popped in for a coffee, we hope to make you feel part of the community!

One of the most rewarding things about working here is seeing people change their lives for the better. We understand that everybody’s goals and fitness levels are different; we try to cater for all abilities so you as a member get the most out of your experience with us.

One of my proudest achievements has been annually hosting our awards ceremony where around 150 members come together to recognise and celebrate the success and achievements of fellow members. We hope to host the night again this year so keep your eyes peeled.

I’m really proud of the team of experienced Fitness Professionals we have here so if you need some support with your training I’m really confident we will be able to get you on the right path, whatever your goal may be.
