BALLET TOTS & BALLET BEGINNERS
Discover the world of dance in our ballet tots to ballet beginners programmes. Tiny tots take their first steps in ballet through music and movement. Teachers use an imaginative approach to encourage natural movement, using stories and imagination to encourage a child's sense of movement, rhythm and balance. This fun class is a good introduction to dance and can also help to develop balance, co-ordination and motor skills. Hendon offer adult and toddler (Ballet Tots) classes from 18 months - 3 years. Our Ballet beginners classes from 3-5 years are designed to get children moving and having fun, all taught by experienced teachers. ISTD SYLLABUS CLASSES
Hendon offer ISTD syllabus classes for Primary in Imperial Classical Ballet. Classes are for 6+ years. Students can be entered for examinations at the discretion of our teachers. Please see our timetable for full list of classes. Dance involves a range of motion, coordination and strength. The entire body is used and is an excellent form of exercise for all over fitness.
ADULT BALLET
This beginner class is designed for those with little or no previous ballet experience, or if you haven't danced for a while! The class structure consists of barre work, center practice, pirouettes and jumps. Your body will feel more open, lengthened, yet grounded allowing you to dance with freedom and confidence. Overall this class will give you the opportunity to enjoy and gain the rewards that ballet has to offer, meet like minded people and express yourself in a fun and relaxed environment. A strong technical foundation enables a dancer to focus on their style and performance. Hendon Jazz classes are fun while concentrating on technique ensuring leaps and turns have correct posture. Jazz students strong and sharp movements are greatly aided by a good background in ballet.
Students will be taught a variety of Jazz dance techniques, which allows them to develop co-ordination and a spontaneous response to rhythm.

This dynamic and energetic dance form incorporates movement sequences, a range of different dance techniques as well as styles. Classes will focus on floor work, changes in direction, speed, and rhythm. Contemporary dance classes provide technical training and performance experiences for aspiring young dancers, tThrough weekly sessions lead. Students will have the opportunity to improve their contemporary dance technique, learn exciting new choreography.
