Hackney families looking for ways to banish boredom without breaking the bank can head over to Better for a range of affordable and fun options this summer.

The summer months can feel like an expensive time, especially when it comes to keeping the kids occupied during the school holidays, but there are things you can do with the children that won’t break the bank and cost less than £10.
Local leisure centres in Hackney offer a wide range of fun activities that don’t cost the earth and will keep the kids entertained for hours.  Better, the charitable social enterprise, which runs leisure centres, pools and pitches across the borough, has created a timetable of activities to ensure that every child can enjoy active sports and fun games all summer-long.  Here are its top ten ideas:

Swimming – not only is swimming a fun thing to do it’s crucial for children to learn how to be safe in the water.

1.Under 18s swim for free in any Swim for All, Swim for Fitness or Sensory Swim session at Britannia Leisure Centre, King's Hall Leisure Centre or Clissold Leisure Centre, if they have a £1.70 pay and play membership.
